If you have a bad credit score and are looking for a way to build up your credit you may be considering a lot of different options. In this article I’m going to show you 3 simple and easy ways for you to improve your credit score fast.

Make Payments On Time

The first simple and fastest thing you can do to building up your credit score is paying your bill on time.  This is the biggest single mistake most Americans make that will literally ruin your credit score in a matter days.

Instead always make payments on time, even if you have to pay the minimum amounts on your credit card bill and loans, do it.  If you can’t pay the minimums call your creditors and let them know about your situation and maybe you will be able to work something out.  What ever you do don’t do nothing.

Cut Down Debt

Next, you need to cut down debt.  If you have a lot of unsecured credit cards for bad credit reasons stacked full of debt you need to look into cutting down that debt.  To do this you may need to set up a simple debt elimination plan.

This is a plan that is set up to systematically pay your debt off one creditor at a time and is a lot more effect than the shot gun approach to paying a little bit to each creditor.

Create New Credit

Finally, you will want to look into creating new lines of credit to improve your score.  In fact new and different types of credit account for 20% of your credit score.  However you may be thinking if I have bad credit will I even be able to be accepted by a creditor.

To create new credit I recommend you get a secured credit card.  This is a card that requires you to fund it with your own money but also has the benefits of a regular credit card in that it show the credit bureaus that you can handle money and as a result will improve your credit score.
