Fast cash on the internet was at one time very easy, nowadays you have to be a bit more careful.  There are still options abound, but most of the super easy ways have gone by the wayside.  I’ve spent lots of time trying out these methods and have found the two that I know will make you money today, without having to put in a whole lot of work.  I would venture a guess that 99% of all make fast cash on the internet programs are a scam.  The two that I’ll show you in this post are legit, and I know because I use them both!

Newspapers may be going the way of the 8-track, but they’re still a valuable resource for finding an easy money job.  Find a newspaper (go to Starbucks if you can’t afford one) and flip back to the classified section.  In all of that 7 point font you should find an entire section dedicated to jobs.  Now I’m sure that you’ve seen this section before, but this time look a little bit closer and find the part of it that’s labeled “miscellaneous” or “odd jobs.”  In this section you’re going to find tons of random things you can do to get paid.  Everything from medical studies to help cleaning out a grandma’s garage can be found here.  The key to getting the good ones is to start early in the morning when the newspaper is still fresh.  You’re not the only one out there looking for these gigs, so you’ve got to be the early bird getting the worm!

Look Online

Maybe it’s because I live in the Bay Area, but there are some off the wall jobs on Craigslist.  I’m sure that you’ve been on that website before, but have you ever looked in the “ETC” section of the job postings?  You can be an egg donor, a movie extra, participate in a pain study, a taste tester, a basketball coach, just to name a few.  Even if you don’t find a a fast cash job out of your search, you’re bound to at least get a few laughs from the broad range of jobs that are out there.  I strongly recommend checking it out and subscribing to the RSS feed so that you can have new jobs delivered straight to you as soon as they appear.

Look In Your City

I know some of you may be above doing this, but day laborers make a good clip for doing random jobs.  There’s a spot in just about every city where they hang during the morning and people drive by looking for an extra hand for the day.  You never know what you’re going to end up doing that day, just make sure that you can get a ride back to where you were picked up in the first place!  The work won’t always be easy, but it’s always cash.

There are tons of easy money jobs out there, but you have to go find them!  Easier ways to get money are around, but are rarely as reliable as actually working for it.

7 Ways to Work For Cash

If you can work for cash, you can make some fast money.  I’m certainly not going to advocate that everyone find an under-the-table job, but desperate time call for desperate measures.  What I’m going to do is show you some of the work for cash jobs that are most common, and some tips on landing them.  Jobs that pay cash are only limited by your own resourcefulness, there are millions of odd jobs that someone would be willing to pay cash for (including one that I’ll pay for at the end of the post).

You can work for cash today if you know where to start looking.  The guidelines for the jobs that I’m going to outline here are: 1. You don’t need money to start, 2. You may need some equipment, 3. You need some skills, and I’m sure at least one of these will apply to you and 4. They are legal.  There are lots of illegal ways to make money, but I won’t discuss any of those!

My list of work for cash jobs!

  1. Landscaping. Every house in your neighborhood has some sort of yard, and every yard needs maintenance.  For this, you’ll need some equipment, at least a lawnmower and hedge clippers, to begin.  Having a partner with all of this makes it much easier to carry all of your equipment from house to house.  Set up your stuff in a central location and head door to door and offer your services.  Come up with low prices ahead of time.  If you aren’t a familiar face in your neighborhood, be sure to dress up a little bit so your potential clients won’t feel like you’re there to rob them.
  2. Wash Windows. This is my favorite cash paying job, probably because I’m good at it.  The premise is exactly the same as landscaping, except you need a bucket, a squeegee, towels, and soap, plus the technique.
  3. Walk Dogs. If you enjoy the company of dogs, you could walk dogs for some fast cash.  For the sake of the dogs, please have some experience with dogs before you try and do this.  You can also offer to pick up poop, take out trash, bring in mail, etc. for an extra fee (of course).
  4. Strip. I’m sure that not everyone is going to agree with me on this one, but it’s a great way to make a lot of money fast (if you have the body for it).  Most strip clubs are always looking for dancers, and even if you get the afternoon shift, you’re going to walk out with more cold cash than you walked in with.  There’s obviously a small investment in stripper gear, but sexy underwear will probably get you the job!
  5. Handyman. A handyman can make a ton of money really fast.  This requires that you really know what you’re doing and have the tools for it.  It’s as simple as printing up some business cards or fliers from your computer and plastering them all over the neighborhood.  A tip though, be very clear about the things that you don’t know how to do or you’ll end up in trouble.  If you don’t know electrical, state that up front instead of trying to figure it out as you go, you could hurt yourself and make your customer’s situation worse.
  6. Babysit. I don’t think this one needs much explanation, just watch for friends and family that are working lots of hours and offer your services to them.
  7. Freelance. If you’re skilled at anything on the internet, there’s someone will to pay cash for your services.  Things like writing, SEO, programming, graphic design, and photo editing are always in high demand.  Sites like Get A Freelancer are full of people looking to pay for your skills.  There is quite a bit of competition over there, so if you’re looking for fast cash, start with the people that you know and see what services you can offer them.  I’m always looking for ghost writers for another project I have, and pay a penny a word (a fair rate) for articles.  If you have writing skills, and understand a bit of SEO and copywriting, use the contact page to email me.  You’ll need a Paypal account to receive payment.

Fast Cash At The Pawn Shop

I love a good pawn shop, and I love making fast cash at pawn shops!  This is my go-to method when I need some money, and I’ve learned some tricks to get me even more money along the way!  The idea of pawn shops goes back for centuries and millions of people have gotten the fast cash that they provide to help make ends meet.

If you’re considering going out and pawning your stuff, be sure to read this article all the way through.  I’ll share some tips that have gotten me more money for each item that I’ve sold.  I don’t have any facts to back up how much more I’ve made, but after you’ve sold enough stuff it’s easy to tell when you’re getting a much better deal.

Don’t forget that pawn shops are great for buying cheap stuff too.  If you’re strapped for cash, but need some new tools or a bicycle, it makes much more sense to head to a pawn shop.  You may even be able to trade for it and not have to spend a dime!

There are three tricks to help you get the most for your stuff at a pawn shop.  You have to know what they usually buy, how to improve its condition, and a bit of bartering skills to get yourself paid as much as possible.  Before you head out the door, check pawn shops online to find the ones in your area.  Figuring out which ones are close to you, and which ones are competitors is important (more on that later).

What Do Pawn Shops Buy?

Most pawn shops will buy anything.  Which also means that they sell everything.  I actually went into one pawn shop in Mesa, Arizona and the dude behind the counter offered to sell me the entire pawn shop!  There are some things that are going to get you paid much more than others.  This applies to just about every pawn shop on the planet as well.  These things are-

The reason these are the things that are the highest paying is that they are always in demand.  Guitars will never go out of style, and neither will bicycles or jewelry.  Pawn shops make their money selling these things, and you’ll make money selling them as well.

Keep in mind that there are some high-end versions of these things that some pawn shops won’t take.  If you have a million dollar diamond ring, or a ‘57 Les Paul, they’re probably going to tell you to find somewhere else to hawk them since they’re so expensive and they don’t have that kind of cash on hand.  Another thing that many of them do, which may throw a wrench in your gears, is offer consignment on large ticket items like this.  Obviously, this isn’t going to help you much if your rent is due tomorrow and you’re two hundred bucks short.  If you live in a big city, odds are that there are hundreds of places that you can sell your stuff and you should be able to find one that’ll offer cash for it.  You can look into jewelry stores, jewelery pawn shops, Guitar Center, other pawn shops, or even throw it on craigslist to get the cash you need!

“Reconditioning” Your Stuff

This is a trick that I’m pissed took me so long to figure out.  Many times, you can spend a couple bucks to get something cleaned up and in better shape to get yourself more money from the pawn shop.  The best example is guitars, I’ve pawned three guitars over the years and all were about the same quality and price when new, but one of them got me paid $150 dollars more than the others.  Why?  Because I cleaned it up really well, restrung it, and tuned it.  It cost me about $4 for the guitar polish and $7 for the strings.  I paid $11 and got $150 extra!  That’s a smart investment.

Anything you pawn should be treated this way.  Do you think your local pawn shop is going to clean up those screwdrivers you’re heading down there to pawn?  I don’t think so!  Will they pay you more if they come in nice and shiny?  Probably!  Clean equals quality in the minds of many shoppers and pawnshop owners.

Sometimes something as simple as a cord can dramatically hurt the price that you’re paid.  Take video game systems, for example.  If you go to sell your Xbox and it’s missing the power cable, you certainly aren’t going to get all of the money that you could if you went to the store and spent a few bucks on a new one.

Do Some Negotiation

Keep in mind that the price they offer you for your stuff isn’t a set-in-stone number.  You can barter with them, and you should.  It can be the difference in getting a fair price and getting nearly nothing for the things you’re pawning.  Most pawn shop dudes are going to make an educated guess on what they should pay you, and you have to keep in mind the “relative” cost.  This means that even if you paid $500 for something that you aren’t owed anything close to $500 for it.  You have to consider what the pawn shop will be able to sell it for, and that they have to make money on it as well.

If the pawnshop employee is being difficult and not willing to barter with you, tell them that you’re heading to “fill in competitor’s name here.”  If you have things that are of value and they’ll be able to sell quickly, they’re going to change their tune and be much more willing to work with you on a price.  This has always been the most effective negotiation tool for me.

To sum it up; research your local pawn shops, gather up the stuff that they pay the most for, clean it up, and put your negotiating hat on.  Get out there and get paid!

There is also a forum for you to meet other members and share information. I have learned a lot from this section.

I was very hesitant to start taking surveys online but I am so glad I did. The money has helped me pay my bills and I look forward to the next time I get paid to take surveys online. If you put more time into this than I did (just a few hours) you could stand to make a lot of money. With online surveys your effort and time is rewarded, and the more you put in the more you get paid.
